Pretty Portovenere is just a 35 min ferry ride from Riomaggiore. This little fishing village is not officially part of the Cinque Terre coast, however some count it unofficially as city zero. It’s famous for it’s colourful fortified wall of buildings along the water and has a look similar to the those on the Cinque Terre. Narrow alleyways, quaint little shop fronts (try the pesto & seafood here!) and lots of great food too. If you have time, do take a trip out of Portovenere to escape the sometimes suffocating tourist crowds in the five villages of the Cinque Terre. It’s noticeably more quiet here and is a nice change of scenery too :-)

Wow, I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this place! It’s absolutely stunning! Those narrow but tall buildings in pastel shades make me want to take the soonest flight outta here.

It is! A little different to the Cinque Terre villages but still has a similar vibe to it
I can’t believe that I’ve never heard of it either – so many beautiful colours! Love that you went to the effort to match your top to the brightly colored environment :)

Definitely do!
Oh wow! I’ve always wanted to visit Cinque Terre, but this place looks absolutely amazing – I love that wall of coloured houses along the seafront! I’ll be sure that if we ever visit (hopefully), we’ll take a little trip over!
