lilac dreams

Lilac has been on my mind and in my heart for a while now so I just couldn't hold this post any longer. This perfect breathtaking shade of purple has always caught my eye when I see the beautiful Springtime flowers beginning to bloom around my neighbourhood. I've been searching for a few staple coats for Winter and although it's almost Spring, Melbourne's consistently chilly weather is certainly justifying this purchase. I originally intended to acquire something with short sleeves, but then I stumbled across this particular lilac number - for a bargain, might I add - and decided it would be the perfect trans-seasonal piece. The bright shade reminds me of candy coloured Summers but it has the warmth to get you through the cooler days. The design's simple yet structured knee-length cut and its retro stand collar mean that the colour really does speak for itself...and I love it! For some reason, lilac works so well with a lot of my wardrobe pieces and in particular, the creamy pastel colour palette I am adoring right now. So strong is my love for lilac that I also bought a gold plate belt in the same shade!I wore this outfit when attending the media preview for the opening of Zara Chadstone (!!) and to check out the new Miss Shop Cosmetics range at Myer Melbourne last week. For those who follow me on instagram (search 'kisforkani' to find me!), you might have seen some of the new season pieces and beauty products I'm really coveting right now.Anyway, say hello to my new header! I came up with this one myself the other day and really tried to convey the style of my blog in it - hope you like it :)
