I've got a love affair with unique vintage pieces and I'm not going to be shy about it. Vintage shopping has always been a favourite of mine and it all started when I realised I liked things from my mother's wardrobe more than what I saw in store. Isn't that a strange feeling for a 16 year old! One of the first few pieces my mother handed down to me included this mint green dress with little pink and purple flowers on it, which she received as a gift from one of her cousins when she was in her 30s. It has a softly spoken, super feminine print with an intricately pleated bib and was pretty much the first vintage dress I ever owned. Since then, I have always been on the hunt of cutesy little frocks like these which will accompany me for years. This light polka dot jacket was another one of those pieces that have become a staple in my wardrobe. I found this whilst op-shopping a couple of years ago. And I must admit, op-shopping is hard. Sometimes I will shop around for ages and end up buying things 'I like more than the things I don't like' in the shop, as going through racks and racks of often strange-fitting, odd garments sometimes confuse my thrifting radar! However, this was one of those purchases that I got lucky with and I just love the loose fit and delicate flower buttons. I can just imagine how sad I will be if one suddenly fell off - I should probably go and reinforce them now!
