Nails: Dior Vernis 'Diablotine)It has only been recently that I've come to the realisation that I kind of lack basics in my wardrobe. And it's not the white tees and black blazers I'm talking about - strangely enough, I don't think I could ever feel comfortable in a combination like that. It's more the solid coloured pieces here and there to break up the overwhelming accumulation of printed pieces I seem to own. I love Stella's hawaiian print jacket and I just love how it works harmoniously with my printed skirt. The thing is, I just couldn't see it working with a printed top inside so it was a breath of fresh air when I realised I had this quality racerback (by Alexander Wang & new to THE OUTNET.COM today!) hanging on my rack to work back an otherwise clash crazy look. This singlet is a keeper, the bright green almost disguises the fact that you're wearing a jogging appropriate top and the best thing about such a piece is that you're then free to go jogging in style comfortably in it right after. I just love how it adds a little bit of casual casual to an otherwise pretty dressed up look.I have also found a new love for all things beige as well. After accidentally hanging this beautiful leather holdall by Zac Posen next to a pair of acid wash denim jeans which I swore matched nothing in my wardrobe, I realised that the magical colour I was after was beige, another shade that I don't own much of but am slowly embracing. I literally jumped with excitement when I realised the two go so well together and started holding my bag up to all the other pieces in my wardrobe seeing what else was going to work. So much worked.So it seems that the lesson of the day is that solid coloured pieces in every shade of the rainbow and more is definitely a necessity in order to complement a love for prints & given I don't own many, it seems like I've just given myself a reason to go online shopping..
