I've just finished my first week of full time work (I'm interning at Undertow Media for uni this month, yay!) and after having the most rewarding sleep in on Saturday, I finally put aside some time to organise my back log - something I really need to clear up given I still have posts from MBFWA to upload.I first posted about Lighted Pixels Photography almost four years ago. Singaporean photographer Kelvin and his talented creative team have produced some of the most captivating images I've ever come across in wedding photojournalism. Their use of light and landscape, creative composition and interaction between subject and environment has always inspired my photography endeavours and their round-the-world tours shooting couples from London to Paris and Tokyo to Sydney has constantly opened my eyes to the beauty of the globe and my heart to an aching wanderlust to explore all these places on Earth.Since then, Kelvin, the founder and I have become good friends and every time we're in the same city, we always talk about taking photos together but never get the chance to due to clashing schedules or the unpredictable weather. However, we finally got around to doing some portraiture when he came down to Melbourne in April this year. You probably can tell it's been a while since then as my hair has grown a heap longer but I'm so happy to finally get around to posting the first set of many photos to come. Tom couldn't be there on the day, so I pulled out a dress he gave me (so that he was with me in spirit) and custom made a woodland floral headpiece sprinkled with blossoms and fluttering monarch butterflies. I wanted to style something inspired by the sweet, soft mood of couples in love to capture images with a feel similar to Lighted Pixel's images.I always say to Kelvin that he'd better still be shooting when I get married and now that I've written it on the public blogosphere, Kelvin, you can't let me down on your promise! Because with a portfolio of pictures like these, there's really no one else I'd really want.*This headpiece will be listed in my shop soon - if you'd like to reserve it, please email connie@connieandluna.com.Photos: Kelvin Koh @ Lighted Pixels Photography
