If you look at this post on the city walls walk from earlier this week, you'll see just how close Lokrum is. The Island is about a 15 minute ferry ride, making it the perfect place to take a half-day / day trip. We originally intended to take a day trip but had to make our escape early as there was a storm rolling in. Nevertheless, what we saw, we loved. Lokrum is an uninhabited island filled with peacocks and hundreds of exotic plants. There's a small salt-filled lake for swimming (the 'Dead Sea'), a fort you can climb to look at the views of old town, a little museum that houses the 'iron throne', as well as lots of nice places to sit down and have a picnic. It's super peaceful here and makes for a lovely way to escape from the crowds in old town. We loved our time here :)Photos: Thomas Debono & I
