Le Pirate Private Island Flores

One of the best things to do when visiting Flores Island is to go island hopping. From Labuan Bajo, you can take numerous tours to visit the surrounding Komodo Islands, but did you know that Le Pirate also has its own private island which you should definitely add onto your list!

Le Pirate Island is a private island owned by Le Pirate, approximately 40 minutes away from Labuan Bajo.

HOW TO GET THERE

There is a daily day trip package that you can book for 600k IDR per person which includes a morning transfer to Le Pirate Island (meet at 9:30AM at Le Pirate Labuan Bajo, departing at 10AM). It departs the island in the afternoon at 4:30pm, returning back to Labuan Bajo at approximately 5:15pm.

Alternatively, a very common (and recommended!) option is staying at Le Pirate Island in one of the cute island huts overnight. We unfortunately did not have time in our itinerary to fit this in, however I highly recommend doing this if you can.

You can book a day trip visit to Le Pirate Private island even if you are not a guest at Le Pirate Hotel, however it is recommended that you spend the night before at Labuan Bajo, as flights can be delayed so a morning arrival on the same day of your day trip is a little risky.

ON THE ISLAND

Le Pirate Island is equipped with all sorts of activities and equipment during your stay. Think of it literally as your very own island filled with everything you'd possibly need for a relaxing day off-the-grid! There's snorkelling gear, kayaking gear, volley ball nets, ping pong table and of course for those who just fill like lounging around - numerous beach chairs and hammocks as well.

Lunch whilst we were there was either chicken, fish or tofu (which you had to notify your choice of beforehand) with a buffet style salad bar. There is a lovely little restaurant on the island where you can enjoy this on communal dining tables - the perfect place to make a few new friends!

There's also a bar on the island as well as a really fun little set up where you can make your own juice by riding a bicycle hehehe.

I super recommend snorkelling off the beach at Le Pirate Island. It was such a fun thing to do and we also did some kayaking as well. If you have the energy, I heard that a 20 minute walk up a nearby hill gives you beautiful views of the island from above.

My biggest recommendation would be to book an overnight stay because how cute are these island huts! I so wish we had the time to do this. If you're like us though, and just can't fit it in, then a day trip to the island is still worth doing as well. The ambience here is just so relaxing and the fact that there are only a handful of people on the island all day literally feels like your very own private slice of paradise.

We had an amazing time at Le Pirate Island and can't wait to return again one day soon!
