packing for taiwan
It's been a few months in the making now but tonight I will heading off to Taiwan for the first time to work on the TV show 'Fun Taiwan'. Fun Taiwan is a long running travel show (now in its 13th season!) which airs on Discovery Network's Travel & Living Channel and is hosted by the ever-so-sweet Janet Hsieh. Along with three other guests, we'll be travelling and exploring this magnificent island together for a month to uncover all the must-see / must-do / must-eat attractions and spots in Taiwan. It's going to be a busy schedule as we will be filming for the TV show everyday but I'll try my best to post on social media along the way so I can keep you guys updated on all things Taiwan. You can also follow our adventures on the newly created Fun Taiwan Facebook Page.I'm ten parts excited and as many parts anxious as it's the first time I'll be overseas by myself for so long (Tom I'm going to miss you so much!) but Taiwan's a place that's been on the top of my travel wishlist for a while so I'm excited to have the opportunity to make this happen in the most unexpected way possible! It's one of those places I've always found intriguing especially for its natural wonders which are often less known compared to the bustling cosmopolitan hub of Taipei - which I'm sure everyone knows about.Taiwan, I can't wait to meet you and meet all the new friends I'll be making along the way :)Here's a peek into my Taiwan suitcase. I've kept it simple, light and extremely versatile as we'll be doing a zillion different things and moving around tonnes!
I'm bringing my American Tourister 77cm Zavis luggage with me. It's just a tiny bit smaller than my large Cube Pop and is the perfect size for a month away with also room to spare.
Some fun transeasonal travel options: Black monk shoes & tan boots from Bared | Hand knitted beanie from Obus (coming soon!) | Lucky jumper from Rachel's super cute label Castle & Things | Garden bed t-shirt from Gorman | Socks from Karen Walker x Happy Socks | Sunnies from Pared Eyewear | Little Powershot G7X camera from Canon, to give me a break when I'm too tired to carry my DSLR | Passport cover from The Daily Edited | Clinique Chubby Stick tinted lip balm - the BEST | Sunglasses case from Monki | Pen & Quote card from Kikki-K
My Kanken has been such a faithful travel companion and despite it's completely battered state, it's still coming with me on it's third overseas holiday!
I love the half/half storage area split of these cases. The first time I saw one of these, I was worried I might need to bring something that needed the entire width of the luggage but I've since realised that such large things never exist /never make it into my suitcase so it's been love ever since! Makes organising and finding things super duper easy.
