The start of September marks the moment where we all shed our winter coats and cooler shades for the bright colours of blooming flowers in Spring! Melbourne has been gracing us with some pretty beautiful weather this week – it’s a bright and sunny 24 degrees right now. On the weekend, I took advantage of the comfortably warm weather to bust out this light coloured ensemble, featuring some of my classic vintage loves and some of my favourite new buys. Since MBFWA earlier this year, white has been a huge favourite of mine. In the space of a few months, I’ve added so many creamy white pieces to my wardrobe and have been just dying for the weather to get better so I can wear them! One of these is The Rodnik Band anchor jacket – I absolutely adore its comical nautical inspired design. It’s so great how a quirky print can instantly add a twist of surprise to the look of a classic swing jacket. The cut and print of this jacket is just so gorgeous that I almost bought it in the navy colourway as well! Also, light coloured shoes have been slowly creeping onto my shoe rack and these retro-inspired, chunky sandal wedges seem like they will become a staple Spring/Summer wardrobe. To me, white is the new nude from a few seasons ago and I can see these shoes working so well with my soft coloured vintage dresses, a straw boater and a magazine on a warm Summer’s day, somewhere tranquil and far, far away from the crazy rush of suburban city life. Thinking of these things really make me yearn for the Summer break ahead…only six weeks of uni left, followed by two weeks of exams! I can’t wait to have more time to work on so many projects for my blog and etsy which are already underway!! <3
