Chadstone With Damejolie
Handmade KANI headband (mine!), Vintage dress c/o DameJolie, Forever New tan belt, bracelet from China, Vintage tan bag, Novo shoes.
Excuse my tired face. Today i am sharing the outfit i wore to the Chadstone VIP shopping day/party (whatever they like to market it as) last Thursday and i'm also here to tell you about my new dress Gracie from DameJolie gifted me :) So i chose to wear this dress to Chadstone because it was going to be hot outside and cold inside, so i really didn't want to wear too less and i didn't want to wear too much. This dress proved to be perfect as it's actually quite 'thick', well not really but it is lined inside (don't you just love the quality of vintage dresses, one of the main reasons why i like to go vintage!) and also because it is sleeveness but back-full :)
It proved to be a perfect choice. But i'll tell you what wasn't a perfect choice? My wedges which although are so so comfy, my feet were killing me after standing/walking in them for seven hours! I guess any shoe would hurt after seven hours and anyway, all that was on my mind towards the end of the night was.. I NEED FLAT SUMMER SHOES.
So.. i bought some $20 clogs from Cotton on.
I am completely in love with them. I am pretty sure they are Swedish Hasbeen copies. They look absolutely amazing but the sad thing is, after one wear.. the stitching on the straps are coming off! Veryyyyyy sad and learnt my lesson - never buy cheap shoes again!!
I told you i wasn't a shopoholic :) Just a student on a student budget, i think i did pretty well if i only spent $20 at Chadstone. Anyway, today i also wanted to introduce you to the lovely Gracie who runs the Big Cartel store - DameJolie.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I hold a day job from Monday to Friday and tend the store after work and on weekends. With a diploma in IT, I'm now taking a part time degree in Mass Communications. I'm a Gemini, love my boyfriend's cats, adore old movies, munching on Onigiri (Japanese rice ball) makes my day and a hot cup of latte together with a good book is bliss. I can go on and on.
What do you love most about vintage?
They are unique! I've a soft spot for details because it can make a whole lot of difference and people those days have an eye for it. One Of A Kind is endearing
What sort of vintage pieces make it towards your shop collection?
Dresses in quirky prints, bold colours, soft pastels and definitely chiffon and lace. There may be plans to bring in shoes and bags next year.

What trend in vintage items are you loving right now?
I can't think of a particular trend offhand actually. I guess its how you mix and match to your own comfort and style. Vintage is timeless.
What plans do you have in five years time?
I want to work on the shop full time and have my own studio! Preferably a space to take photos, steam my Vintage pieces and keep them in tip top condition. Customers can also make an appointment to try them on!
Her store is filled to the rim with lovely goodies including vintage dresses, handmade accessories & lovely handpicked items. I think i am in love with little independent businesses, i mean i love shopping at Etsy stores and just little places as i feel like my shopping experience is more personal and everything feels so much more friendly on a small scale like this! So when beautiful online vintage selling boutiques are found.. they have to be shared!!
Anyway, word is that K is for KANI readers can receive a 10% discount on DameJolie items with the coupon, KANI10 at checkout. (Non-Singaporean/International customers will have to email through for shipping rates before checkout though! <3)
