I've been so busy with attempting to keep afloat with university these past two weeks that I almost forgot to finish posting my Europe photos! I spent the last few days editing photos from Florence - one of my favourite cities we visited (I think I say that about every city). Florence is a popular tourist city and I always thought it was one of the larger ones in Italy. So I was surprised to hear there were less than a million residents here and it's actually quite small! Tom & I stayed at an apartment on the fifth floor of an elevator-less 800 year old building which Michelangelo used to live next to. Within our first 2 hours in the city whilst we were unpacking our suitcases and settling in, a 5.0 earthquake struck & the building shook. Our host seemed unfazed. We were scared out of our minds given we had just been told the building was almost 1000 years old. Thank goodness he then told us the walls were about a metre thick in every direction. A freaky start!

We were lucky to have chosen a fabulous location to live in Florence, being literally at the doorstep of Piazza Santa Croce & only a couple of streets from Piazza Della Signoria - the main square in Florence. Everytime we walked towards Piazza Della Signoria, we'd walk past this big building, pictured above. We never figured out what it was and it wasn't marked on any of the many tourists maps we had. I literally just pinpointed its location on Google maps and it still doesn't seem to tell me. It wasn't a busy area either so one day we just decided to shoot in front of it. This was one of my typical go to outfits for travelling. I had to buy a couple of pairs of jeans in Europe as I somewhat underestimated how cold the world can get in the Northern Hemisphere and had only brought leggings and tights. I actually love the colour of these ones I managed to pick up in Zara and found it a refreshing alternative to the usual navy jeans. I don't know why, but I don't seem to fancy wearing dark colours. This raccoon print jumper was also the only wool jumper I had in my suitcase for the entire trip and was actually also bought in Europe. Once again, I did not think it would be this cold! I got heaps of wear out of it and loved the comical and quirky animal print on the front. This post is just a small preview to a huge Florence photo diary coming very soon!
