ROAD TRIP DOWN MORNINGTON PENINSULA

This year I want to spend more time exploring my own backyard. Travelling overseas is exhilaratingly fun, thrilling and new but there's always something new to uncover in your own city and these days, I am increasingly more and more appreciative to call Melbourne home.A trip Tom & I love doing is heading down to Mornington Peninsula for a day out with friends. We last went to go kayaking on the ocean in Portsea for Tom's birthday and the time before we headed to Sorrento after spending a weekend in Point Lonsdale. But there's always something new to do and earlier this week, Tom & I spent a weekend down by the coast again to explore the region with some new friends. This weekend couldn't be possible without these special local businesses in the region so thank you to Peninsula Hot Springs, Happy Glamper, The Milbri, Lindenderry at Red Hill and MP Experience for our little getaway.

Journeying to the Peninsula. Rolling vineyard hills to the left and open expanses to the right. I love this view and always entertain the idea of moving away from the city every time I'm surrounded by a place like this.

Checking in to our Happy Glamper tent at Capel Sound Foreshore. Glamping has always been something on the top of my bucket list and I was so excited for this. I love how these tents are so colourfully decorated, have a real mattress (Tom says this is not real camping!), rugs, board games and more.

Afternoon rays shining on the entry to the magical world of Lindenderry. We visited for some wine tasting, lunch and an overnight stay. I don't drink so Tom did wine tasting on my behalf - he absolutely loved the Pinot Gris & I'll just go ahead and pretend I know what Pinot Gris is..

Our home for a night, wish we could do this for many days more.

Picture perfect grape crop. We have two baby grape vines at home but sadly they do not resemble anything like this.

Amongst friends. We glamped next to the beach with Chris & Candice + Aisha & Travis. Definitely a couples weekend, ha!

Inside our beautifully set up bell tent. Thanks Jessie for decking our home out in so much colour! Love the fun vibe of glamping amongst colour and more colour.

Watching the blazing sun set from our tents. So magical it is to be camping right next to Tootgarook beach. We fell asleep and woke up to the sound of ocean waves. It's the first time I've slept outdoors - this was the perfect introduction.

Dinner at the Milbri, a new joint with the friendliest of staff

Attempting to stargaze on a cloudy evening. Still magical nevertheless. Such a stark contrast to sleeping at home, I loved it.

Peninsula Hot Springs moments before the crowd rushed in. We came here to watch the sunrise from the hilltop pool. Thank you Danielle of MP Experience for taking us here bright and early in the morning and to Jeni of Peninsula Hot Springs for giving us the hot springs all to ourselves. This place is heaps popular and soon filled up when the hot springs opened its doors for the day.

Breakfast at the Spa Dreaming Centre cafe at the Peninsula Hot Springs. I've visited the hot springs before but never knew of this cafe. It's definitely worth checking out if you head to their Spa Dreaming Centre! I had corn fritters with smoked salmon, avocado & poached egg. It was delicious and the most popular dish amongst us all.

The wedding aisle at Lindenderry. I can see why this place makes for a popular wedding ceremony venue.

Our Lindenderry home for the night. The grounds here are massive - there's a lake, tennis courts, beautiful walking paths and more. We stayed on the upper floor where there's also a balcony to enjoy the view.
