k is for kani london travel diary guide things to do 2015 1Tom and I touched down in London earlier this week with just under 36 hours to explore our favourite capital. Picking off from where we left off last time, we decided to stay somewhere a little different to central London and opted for a hotel just opposite Hyde Park - the Hilton - which was conveniently right next to the Queensway tube station as well. Battling jet lag and the uncomfortable 24 hour transit, we ended up spending the entire first day catching up on the zzz's whilst I accidentally also caught another cold on the plane. The 15 hours of sleep was worth it however as we were back in action again the very next day, packing our schedule as busily as we could so we could explore all that we could. We stayed largely off the tourist path this time, after having visited the top attractions (St Pauls, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, etc) during our previous trip to London. Here's my guide to some of my favourite places we dropped by this week..

NOTTING HILL, PADDINGTON & ITS PASTEL COVERED STREETS

However, as we stayed at the edge of Notting Hill/Paddington this time, we were able to walk around the streets to discover its pretty painted streets - much like the colours of Venice. Give yourself an hour or so to walk aimlessly around - you'll never know what you might just discover!

CLIFTON NURSERIES

If you like wandering around inner city suburbia checking out plant covered hotspots - Clifton Nurseries might just be a place you'd love to visit. It's a large nursery with a gorgeous little cafe inside as well. Well worth a little stopover if you are ever in the area visiting Little Venice in Paddington!Part II coming soon!Photos: Thomas Debono & I
